Saturday morning Sam's brother and family came over and we took the kids to Heritage Prairie Farm for Easter festivities. They had baby chicks, 2 (1 week old) lambs one of which was black, bunnies, and crafts for the kids to do. All the kids lined up for the egg hunt and the one egg that Lauren managed to get ended up being a real one! It was a fun way to spend the morning with family and friends. After Laurens nap that afternoon Sam and I set up her table outside and decorated eggs (it was certianly an outdoor craft this time around!). She loved it and was so proud of the ones she was decorating!
On Easter morning Lauren got her Easter basket and I was so bummed we didn't have the video camera ready because she was so excited and let us know it! She's been very into Elmo and Sesame Street lately so much of her basket was that. We went to church and Sam's parents, mine, my brother, and my grandparents joined us for the service. Afterwards we decided to host everyone at our home this year mainly for the purpose of not having to travel anywhere between both families and me being so uncomfortable. It was perfect! We catered in Portillo's, had our own egg hunt, the kids all got to open their Easter baskets, and just enjoyed being with family without worrying about cooking and clean up. It was a perfect way to spend such a beautiful day.
I love my family!! - Sam
