We picked a big pumpkin this year and spent some time after dinner the night before Halloween we got messy and carved it up! The kids really enjoyed digging out all the seeds and slime and I was very happy to delegate that job! Lauren decided our pumpkin should have a happy face so we went classic jack-o-lantern style!

As for costumes.. Lauren started out several months ago saying she wanted to be a doctor for Halloween. This initially surprised me because of the huge princess phase she's in, however she did say she wants to be a doctor when she grows up during her 3 year birthday interview. Then on Halloween, all morning, she wore one of her princess dresses and said that that's what she's going to be. Thank goodness I didn't spend any money on one of these fancy costumes! Oh the mind of a preschooler!

The weather, though warm in the 60's, was rainy this Halloween. Boooo... however there was a 20-30 minute period where the sun came out and the rain stopped. We ran out (as did most of the neighborhood) and had a super fun time trick or treating! Lauren got way too much candy and was pooped by the end. She caught on real quick that if she was "nice" and asked for a treat for her brother, she would get double so we had to tell her enough of that... little did we know the very next house was handing out full size candy bars! The nice lady at the door was literally trying to give Lauren more and Lauren just kept refusing. Sam and I were both in the background kicking ourselves for that one ;)
