A special mommy and daddy date with Lauren has been long overdue since Noah has been born. We have been seeing some slight forms of regression over the past week like: refusing (okay... crying and begging for her diaper) to use the potty, wanting us to hold her a lot more than usual, catching her sitting in Noah's bumbo playing with his toys, and just overall more whining. So it was time to spend some time alone with our little girl. We planned on taking her to the water park for the afternoon since it's something that's a lot harder to do with Noah in tow. Backup was a local indoor water park if the weather was too cool/rainy. Well... out of this crazy hot summer we got hit with both a rainy and cool day. I called the indoor place only to find out they were closed for maintenance! Good thing we didn't talk it up too much... Lauren actually took a longer nap than usual too so we didn't have a ton of time to do much anyway. So instead Sam and I took her out for ice cream at Graham's, downtown Geneva, and walked around under the umbrella's splashing in puddles while my mom watched Noah. I think that she enjoyed it just as much as if we would have done the water park thing! We let her pick out her own ice cream (lately her favorite has been chocolate) and a few small chocolates. They had an extensive car show going on outside too so that was kind of neat to see. Overall we think she had a great time and we did too!
