Milestones

Lauren is 5 & 1/2 months old and she is changing so much! She just recently started sitting with support but is really close to being able to do it without. Lauren prefers sitting or standing these days and when she's on her back she's always doing abdominal crunches (I think her abs are stronger than mine!) or grabbing her feet. Our little girl has yet to roll over, I really just think she's not at all interested. She has never enjoyed tummy time and when she's on her back she is distracted with things right around her. We try to get her interested but she'll find something else to play with (like her feet). Everyone mentions how she's such a happy baby. Lauren smiles all the time and loves to laugh! Such a difference from those first few weeks.
Our schedule is pretty much set now - wake up around 6:30am at nurse, breakfast at 8, 2 hr nap at 9am, nurse or bottle at 11-11:30, lunch at 12:30, 2 hour nap at 1, nurse, play until bath (every other night) and bedtime at 6:30/7pm. Lauren thrives on schedules!
My mom has been spending the day at our home Mondays, Tuesdays, and Friday's while I work. Lauren's face lights up and she gets so excited when her Nana either gets her up from her nap on Mon & Tues or walks in during her breakfast on Fridays. I feel so blessed to have family so close. Once the weather improves and Lauren is able to go further between her naps my mom will probably start taking Lauren to her home during the day.
Sam started working from 7am to 4pm downtown which gets him home an hour before Lauren goes to bed now. Though that means getting up at 5 he's really enjoying getting to spend the extra time with her.
Lauren has just brought so much joy to our lives already and we feel honored that God has entrusted her to us as her parents.
