Sam got up at his usual time today (5am) and decided he was going to try and make it to work despite the weather conditions. After snow blowing the driveway he drove our SUV into the street and realized he wasn't going anywhere. Our street obviously hadn't been plowed yet and he was lucky he was able to make it back into the driveway!
Lauren decided to get up at 5:30 this morning and must have known daddy was still home because she wouldn't go back to sleep. After realizing that trains were only running on Sunday schedules going downtown and seeing that our street wasn't even plowed until almost 11am Sam decided he would stay home and try and do some work from the laptop. He again went out to plow through the driveway and I helped shovel off our front walkway and stoop. I couldn't believe how heavy and packed the snow was and the drifts were easily up to my waist. Then he helped both of our neighbors with their driveways as well; what a thoughtful husband! Final snow totals for our area were a little over 20 inches.
This picture was taken after already doing the driveway at 5am!
Lauren stayed in her PJ's all day and though her schedule was off all day from getting up early she was such a happy girl! This picture shows how much she's loving being able to sit on her own now. Its amazing how fast they pick up new skills at this age; I don't even have to support her with anything anymore! Such a big girl!
