Lauren and I joined my mom & grandmother for a very special trip to Edgewater, FL. We flew down there Wednesday evening and spent 2 days with Lauren's great great grandmother. She is turning 95 yrs old in a few months and is just amazing. She still can get down on the floor and up again, sits in her recliner chair with her legs hanging over the armrest and when getting in and out doesn't even put the footrest down! She still lives on her own, cooks her own meals (she even insisted on making us food), and is as lively as ever! Though there are lonely moments about living this long (watching your friends, siblings, husband - 2 in her case, and even children pass before you), great grandma nanabel (her name is Isabel) sees such positive in so much.
We pretty much just spent time relaxing with family, catching up, and did have a little fun at Daytona beach as well as indulging in some pretty great ice cream. A professional photographer came to take some pictures of us since getting 5 generations of women together isn't necessarily a common thing. They turned out great and I'll post some as soon as I figure out how. All of us had a great time and Lauren did AWESOME on the plane rides, during our 2 hour delay arriving waiting for our luggage (storms shut down everything at the airport), the whole time we were there, and during our delay leaving Orlando (yet again due to storms) despite interrupting her naps and bedtime. We frequently heard "what a good baby", "she's such a happy baby!" and many other comments along those lines. She's such a trooper and good traveler.
Lauren had a fun time getting to know her great great grandmother.
Enjoying some of mommy's ice cream.
Just hangin' out at the beach.
