Thanksgiving and tree cutting/decorating

Thanksgiving was great this year despite having to split between families. Due to grandparents getting older and larger crowds being overwhelming we decided to split up the festivities. We have been combining the family for years now but this year we spent the morning at Sam's parents for breakfast and fun together. Then we spent the afternoon with my family for dinner. Sam's family then came over after they dropped his grandfather off for desert. Once again there was too much food and lots of love!

On Friday we drove to Dekalb with my parents and brother to pick out and cut down our tree. It's become an annual tradition and we love the place we go to! The highlight at the end is their yummy cookies and hot chocolate.

Lauren was such a good girl helping us decorate the tree with ornaments making sure to say "ball" with each opportunity she got. I couldn't believe how gentle she was handling all the ornaments. So far she's also been great with the stockings hanging over the fireplace! One of her favorite things to do once the tree was lit was use the remote we have to the lights to click them on and off. I'm sure our neighbors had fun trying to figure out what was going on!
