Turns out that you can't always plan on things going a certain way with kids (especially this young)...
We planned on going to the Elgin parade this morning but soon before we were supposed to arrive Lauren got car sick all over herself and the car seat... not a great way to start the morning. I think she got too excited about the parade since we were talking it up pretty good on the way there. That and the fact that she wanted to eat a hot dog for breakfast (okay - only 2 bites went down but still)! So off to Sam's parents house we went to do some laundry and wait for the rest of the gang to arrive. It actually didn't end up turning out that bad since Noah was able to go down for a almost 3 hour nap, Lauren got to fill her tummy, and we got to stay out of the heat! Did I mention that the thermometer read over 105 today at Sam's parents home in Elgin??? Crazy!
We spent the rest of the day relaxing with family, swimming, and trying to stay cool. Sam's dad cooked some good ribs and everyone brought a dish to share. The cousins enjoyed playing together and though Sam and I didn't feel like we saw each other much due to kid duties we were happy to have a break here and there thanks to family helping us out. 2 little ones passed out in the car on the way home and mom and dad are just about ready to ourselves. This heat takes a lot out of you! Here are some pics of our little cuties!
